HERE I GO STARTING A RESTORATION ON AN UNUSUAL OLD BOX I PICKED UP AT A FLEA MARKET. FIRST STAGE WAS GLUING ALL THE SALVAGEABLE PARTS BACK TOGETHER. IT WAS IN A SORRY STATE!

I HAVE NOW REPLACED THE OLD BEADING, MADE A NEW LID AND PAINTED WITH UNDERCOAT.

MAKING GOOD PROGRESS. I DECIDED TO LOOSELY BASE THE DESIGN AROUND THE EIGHT SYMBOLS FOR GOOD FORTUNE IN BUDDHISM, THIS LENDS ITSELF WELL TO THE OCTAGONAL SHAPE OF THE PIECE
